Qualifications & Licenses

  • MOH / DHA Surgical Oncology & General Surgery Consultant since 2013. Holds a European Board Fellowship in Surgical Oncology (2016) and the Syrian Fellowship (Syrian Board) in Surgical Oncology (2010). Earned a Master’s degree (Syrian Board) in General Surgery in 2005, after obtaining the Certificate of the Arab Board of Surgeons (General Surgery) (CABS I) in 2002. Graduated with an MD (Doctor of Medicine) from Tishreen University, Syria, in 2000.

Experiences

  • Served as Head of the Surgical Department at Zulekha Hospital, Sharjah, from April 2014 to December 2021, and as Chief and Coordinator of the Tumor Board Service across Zulekha Hospitals in Dubai and Sharjah during the same period. Previously worked as Chief of Surgical Oncology and the Early Cancer Detection Department at the Franco-Syrian Hospital (Hôpital privé Franco-Syrien) in Aleppo, Syria, from January 2011 to September 2013. Practiced as a Specialist in Surgical Oncology and General Surgery at multiple private hospitals in Aleppo between April 2005 and September 2013. Also served as a Specialist in the Emergency Division of the Department of General Surgery at Aleppo University Hospital from July 2005 to September 2008. In addition, worked as a Lecturer and Clinical Instructor in the Department of Surgery at the Faculty of Medicine, Aleppo University Hospital, where responsibilities included academic teaching and direct clinical supervision of 4th, 5th, and 6th year medical students as well as General Surgery residents.

Publications

  • Published several scientific studies and academic works, including *“The Effectiveness and Quality of Life Outcomes by Transoral Endoscopic Vestibular Thyroidectomy Using Intraoperative Indocyanine Green Fluorescence Imaging and Neuromonitoring: A Cohort Study”* in **Healthcare (MDPI), 2022; 10(5): 953**. Also authored *“Transoral and Submental Thyroidectomy Using Intraoperative Nerve Stimulation and Indocyanine Green Fluorescence Imaging”* published in **BMJ Case Reports**, August 23, 2021, Volume 14, Issue 8 (e243306). Contributed a case report titled *“Primary Cutaneous Mucinous Carcinoma of the Scalp Masquerading as a Benign Dermatological Mass”* in **International Journal of Surgery Case Reports**. Earlier work includes *“Acute Mesenteric Ischemia: Causes, Diagnosis and Management”* published by **Aleppo University Publications** in 2005. Additionally, completed an MD thesis, *“Churchill Handbook of OB/GYN,”* under the supervision of Prof. E. Daly and Prof. A. Yousef at Tishreen University Hospital in 2000.
